Honeycomb Melts was born in 2021, during a moment of deep personal reckoning.
While working in finance during the pandemic – the most unexpected blessing in disguise – I found myself creatively starved, spending long days in a windowless cubicle, staring at a screen all day, disconnected from my body, my soul, and my imagination. I took a three week leave to reignite my creativity, and what began as a simple experiment, making candles in my living room unfolded into a quiet return to myself.
With sustainability and well-being as my foundation, I naturally explored materials that could not only transform a space, but nourish the human temple: mind, body, and soul. That curiosity led me to beeswax: ancient, pure, timeless, and alive with intention. Encouraged to continue by those around me, I spent afternoons in the park with Charlie, sketching ideas, dreaming, and slowly shaping what we know today as Nektara Temple.
Though I couldn’t imagine all those years ago, the path from making candles on the weekend would lead me to higher grounds and the deep meaning I have since discovered, I am forever grateful for the seed that gave way for Nektara Temple to be what it is today. Which is why I have chosen to keep my candles rooted here, under Honeycomb Melts, as a way of honouring where it all began.
